Fresh Conversations

Fresh Conversations

Fresh Conversations is a direct education, newsletter-based intervention for older adults. Fresh Conversations targets behaviors known to reduce chronic disease burden and promote healthy aging. It promotes healthier food and beverage choices across food groups to move closer to Dietary
Guidelines for Americans (eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, healthy fats—less sodium and added sugars).

SNAP-Ed Sedgwick County offers this to low-resource and underserved older adults at Area Agencies on Aging, congregate meal/dining sites, senior centers, and senior housing apartments. The curriculum is 9-11 lesson and can be administered monthly, weekly, or biweekly.

If you're a community organization interested in hosting a series, please reach out to the SNAP-Ed Agent by phone or email to discuss programming options in more detail.
